The school, previously ‘Selston Arts and Community College’, has gone through a full rebrand for the upcoming 2012-13 term. Fifteen Design have been working very closely with the school to achieve a brand which they thought really reflected the school and it’s values.

We first went to the school to give some of the pupils a lesson on logos and branding. Now, we wouldn’t describe ourselves as teachers but the lesson went down really well with the students and teachers involved! The pupils then put their ideas into the logo design by brainstorming about the schools heritage and community involvement. This session really helped the Fifteen Design team to create a brand that not only looked fantastic, but also really represented the school’s history. The meaning behind the brand is also strengthened by the involvement from the pupils which went down really well with the school.

We’ve recently created a stationery pack for the school compromising of letterheads, compliment slips, business cards, continuity sheets and notepads. These will be utilised in the new school year when the school officially rebrands to ‘Selston High School’

Last week the Fifteen Design team were also involved in a photo shoot at the school after their new uniforms were created. We’re working on something really special for the school, involving photography by local award winning photographer David Baird, so watch this space for more on Selston High School!

When you think of boxing, you often think about the glamour and glitz of a World Heavyweight Championship fight held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and not necessarily the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham. But that’s all about to change and Fifteen Design have teamed up with former English Middleweight Champion and Nottingham born boxer Adnan Amar.

Now we cant profess to be boxing experts, nor can we say we’d even heard of Adnan before but it wasn’t long before we go to know all about him. A photographer friend of Fifteen Design got in contact with us and said that she was helping Adnan to get sponsorship for his upcoming fight at the Capital FM Arena. Adnan is fighting on the undercard of another Nottingham born boxer; former World Champion Carl Froch. This got our brains ticking! We thought that if we could give Adnan the benefit of design expertise then we would both be onto a winner.

We’ve been working closely with Adnan on his new brand recently and we are proud to unveil it today! As well as Adnan Amar’s brand, we are also designing and building his brand new website www.adnanamar.com. In exchange for this, Adnan will be sporting the Fifteen Design logo on his shorts, robe, t-shirts and hats.

So keep and eye out for the Fifteen Design logo on Adnans shorts on 26th May!

“So, my first day at Fifteen Design. What was supposed to just be a day of learning and understanding turned out to be a day of learning, understanding… and peril at the side of the A610.

However, before the drama of the afternoon I attended a Fifteen Design strategic planning meeting. This just happened to be on my first day so it was great opportunity for getting a better insight into the company and it’s staff. I learnt about Fifteen Designs strengths and what it prides itself on as well as area’s it feels it could improve to take the company to that next level and I felt inspired to know I would be a part of the company as it shifts into it’s next gear.

After the meeting we all set off in Ollie’s car back to the office, it was a smooth ride for the most part, well, until the car started bleeping and lost power and rolled to the side of the dual carriageway. We were all stranded on the side of the dual carriageway as we all helplessly watched the traffic rush by. Eventually we were picked up and made it back to the office to have some lunch and try and make up for lost time. All in all, not a standard first day at work, one I’ll not forget for a while that’s for sure!”

The Fifteen Design time enjoyed a rare evening to let their hair down when they attended the launch of the Aquinas Foundation at The East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham. Fifteen Design have worked very closely with Aquinas Education in the past, designing their brand, website and were delighted when they were asked to get involved with the charity arm, the Aquinas Foundation.

The Aquinas Foundation was set up by Aquinas Education owners, Craig Anderson and Jermaine Jenas to help tackle truancy and gang culture in Nottinghamshire schools. Being born and bred in Nottingham, the two friends wanted to encourage young people to make the right choices in life and provide role models to help them achieve their goals.

The night was attended by over 450 guests with the star attraction being England and Team GB football manager Stuart Pearce giving the after dinner speech and taking questions from the audience. To follow Stuarts candid insight into all things football, the Aquinas Foundation held a charity auction in which guests could bid to win an array of prizes including a signed David Beckham shirt, a guitar signed by Cheryl Cole, Gareth Bale’s signed football boots, a holiday apartment in Florida for 14 nights amongst many other great prizes. The rarity of the prizes really got the guests buzzing and some of the items were sold for big bucks.

Fifteen Design have designed the brand for the Aquinas Foundation as well as producing their website, app and all the other paraphernalia involved with the night. We felt that we wanted to support this charity, not only because of the good work they do in our hometown of Nottingham but we also wanted to support our friends and clients, Aquinas Education, in helping them give something back.

All in all the team had a great night out and it was fantastic to see so  many people coming together to support this wonderful cause. We hope to have a long and rewarding relationship with the Aquinas Foundation and will be with them every step of the way to support them in whatever way we can.

Parallax Website Design

Nottingham design and brand agency, Fifteen Design have been working very closely with Nottingham based charity, The Aquinas Foundation. After designing the brand and website for the charity’s parent company, Aquinas Education, Fifteen Design were commissioned to design the brand and website for the charity.

Co-founded by Tottenham and England star Jermaine Jenas, the Aquinas Foundation was started to tackle truancy and other related problems in Nottingham’s schools. Fifteen Design wanted to design something that would appeal to young people and also get visitors returning to the site to see whats going on. Using a parallax website front end, the site looks funky and with the ability to upload videos direct from your mobile phone, we hope that the website will help raise lots of money for this worthwhile charity.

Fifteen Design want to wish the Aquinas Foundation all the very best for the future and will continue to support them in whatever they do.

Fifteen Design have got some great news to announce next week and we wanted to share it with our faithful blog followers a little early. But can you keep a secret?

Nottingham designers of pet collars and accessories, Ditsy Pet came to Fifteen Design in need of a new website design that complimented their fresh and funky range and the team at Fifteen Design lept into action to deliver one of our favourite websites so far. Graphic Design team, Fifteen Design’s Head of Marketing Communications, Simon is heading to Ireland on Monday for a meeting with some high profile clients across the water. It’ll be Simon’s first time in Ireland so lets hope the luck of the Irish rubs off on him! His trip sees him spend his first night in Dublin and the second in Cork where I’m sure he’ll sample a few pints of the black stuff and enjoy the Irish craic!

There’s been some spooky goings on at Fifteen Towers today! The graphic designers witnessed objects mysteriously moving around, members of staff disappearing and a funny smell in the office. Could this have anything to do with it being Friday 13th??

But the scariest happening occurred when Lofty was testing the camera before shooting some products for a client when we spotted this ghostly figure of a girl lurking by Simon’s desk! The figure is said to be that of a former client that mysteriously disappeared after drinking one of Ollie’s cups of tea.

Whatever it was, it scared the Fifteen Design Team and we cannot wait for things to get back to normal on Monday 16th.
